Wednesday, December 23, 2009 - On Wednesday at 1132 hours, the Hose Company and Company 5-9 were alerted for the 10-50 PI in the 300 block of South Union Avenue. Deputy Chief 5, Chief 5-2, Engine 512 (w/5, Lamana) and Rescue 5 (w/5, Carroll) marked up shortly after alert. Chief 5-2 was first to arrive at 1135 hours with a two vehicle MVA, advised he had one trapped and requested the Rescue Assignment. Engine 512's crew quickly created a purchase point on the driver's door with a bar and began popping the door with Rescue 5's combi-tool. Extrication was completed quickly and the patient was then loaded in Paramedic 591. Hose Company crews remained on scene until the patient was transported and then cleared.
