On Friday at 1812 hours, the Hose Company was alerted to investigate possible CO in the dwelling at 218 Gracecroft Court, at the request of Medic 591. Chief 5, Chief 5-2, Quint & Rescue 5 marked up shortly after alert. Units arrived to find Company 5-9 treating a patient with CO levels. After an investigation, it was found that the stove had emitted 200 parts per million of CO. Crews quickly shut off and disconnected the gas to the stove and vented the residence.
As a reminder, Carbon Monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas and can be deadly. The Hose Company & City of Havre de Grace continue to offer free CO detectors to the citizens.
