R-5 GETS NEW EQUIPMENT

Thursday, April 14, 2011

The Susquehanna Hose Company recently purchased some new step chocks for R-5. These step chocks are bigger then the one's previously on R-5 to crib bigger vehicles more efficiently. The smaller steps chocks will still remain on the rescue as the bigger one's were purchased to expand the capabilities of R-5. The Hose Company also purchased new plates for the airbags on R-5. These lightweight plastic plates are a big upgrade from the heavy plywood that were recently on R-5. The members of House 4 also added handles made out of webbing on the step chocks, for quicker deployment on the scene. Members are currently working on new handles for all the cribbing on R-5 and this should be completed with-in a week. The Hose Company gives a special thank you to Level Volunteer Fire Company for the offer on the step chocks and airbag plates.
